blarneys island info please?

Could someone tell me if there are drags every Thursday night at Blarneys? Particularly this coming Thursday? Also, a stupid question - I am assuming you have to get there by boat - is there a shuttle boat that goes back and forth picking people up and dropping them off? I will not have my boat along. Any info at all including times and so forth would be great and much appreciated.

They race every Thursday night from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. I think sometimes they run one week after Labor Day.

Races kick off between 6:30 and 7:00 PM (probably earlier now that it is getting dark sooner), so if you want to watch from the island I would plan on getting there well ahead of time. There is a ferry (a big ass custom pontoon with twin Evinrude V-6s) that goes back and forth all night. I think the fare is $6 round trip. It picks up from the Port O' Blarney, which is on the south side of Grass Lake Road.

The races are cool, but the REAL party starts immediately afterward. Stick around that dance floor for more than a few minutes and you are bound to see SOMETHING interesting.
