Alpha lower on a Merc 200?

Alpha lowers are a dime a dozen. What’s the difference in one of these and a Merc 200 lower?

If you mean the 2.5 liter gearcase that would be different
but If you look at the alpha it appears very similar to the 3 liter case
The only problem looks to me the shift shaft if you fit a 3 liter or modify the alpha one this might be very doable
i heard the gearing for the sportmaster are actually alpha gears but not fosure

Yeah, going on a 2.4

Depends on year of alpha. Gen 2 has the 3.0 bolt pattern and pump while Gen 1 is same as 2.4/2.5, will need a drive shaft change .
