Kind of hard to type this with the tears.... :(

Going to miss you Dennis. Love you man. Through this fine fellow I was able to meet and befriend Ken Warby and Howard Arneson!!! My HEROS along with Dennis of course! :(

I just spoke to him a couple wks ago and he seemed fine????

100% better than when we saw him 2 yrs ago!

Paul, did you hear about Gean?
She went to the shop to get something and was gone a while when Dennis got nervous and went looking.

She fell off their second floor mezzanine in the shop and landed on the concrete floor!
Broke both her arms amongst other bones/injuries, laying in a pool of blood!

Was in the hospital for a month and had just gotten home when I last spoke to Dennis.

Dennis was one of the good ones.

He really opened up to us on our last visit Paul.
I had no idea!

You May have known all of this but we didn’t.

Childhood sweethearts, X-marine, supported themselves by his pro motocross winnings, self made, showed me an ancient video he transferred to his lap top, from the ‘80’s, showing Double Troubles (22’ liberator) gauges while doing a hole shot/pass w/it’s (new at time) twin 2.4’s on nitrous, turning 30” cleavers at 9k!

No one was doing that back then.

I am in shock!

Now, how to call Gean?

Thanks for posting Paul.

Dennis was a once in a lifetime friend.

No, I didn't know about Gean's fall, but I knew she had a bad accident just not the details.

I spent a lot of time with Dennis through the years. We flew all the way across the country to pick up a car from Howard Arneson in San Rafael, CA and drove it back to Shreveport, LA in one hitch. I drove him and Bobby Sanders to South Carolina to pick up a V drive circle boat. Plus all the time we spent in his "Beer Garden". I have heard all the stories and as always listened attentively and with great interest. When intelligence speaks, I try to shut up and listen. :)

He also had a Suzuki dealership back in the day. He was brilliant. Self made and made a good living as an air balance engineer. I remember many stories from that.

I also helped him adjust and record an entire new school wing addition. I was his slave that climbed the ladder and held the contraption that measured the air flow out of each vent (a CFM hood?). If they weren't all equal, we had to climb in the attic, adjust them, and recheck them all. And all he had to do was buy me lunch! LOL! :)

Wish I would have been working for him instead of farming this damn dirt patch. Although he was impressed at the size of my tractors, combines, etc.

Yea, you spend that much time in a plane, car, truck, etc., you get to know them. I was proud to call him friend.

Here is a series of pictures I took of his 19 Liberator. I know it had the full Chuck Goodman treatment with alcohol and NOS.

Speaking of Chuck, I miss him too. If not for Dennis, I never would have met him either. Or Gene Deputy, and so many other fine people.

The most scared I have ever been in a boat. And I have been 170mph in a turbine powered offshore boat.

18' of a bigblock powered flatty will get your attention!!! And this was a circle race boat. You barely move the wheel and get ready! You are going the other way!
