Just restored a 58 fat 50 JOHNSON--Came out pretty darn good.
After start up ,,as usaual,, I had an oil slick following me--it was fuel oil mix. Motor was running well on all 4.
I noticed that a 59 front crankcase half has a hose nipple (the 58 did not) on the bottom starboard side of the crankcase front half, right by the bottom bearing. I am guessing this was the 1959 "FIX" to remove unused fuel from blowing out of the bottom bearing and polluting a lake.
Question is--where would a hose go from that nipple????? I cannot see anything thing to connect it to
thanks for the help
