Wiring shorts

Anyone ever used or heard of a tool by Extech called a Fox and Hound? Phone guys and auto mechanics use them? Used to find shorts in wiring harness.

We used them 30 years ago installing pay phones...toner & tracer.

The last few shorts I've found by using my thermal imager. Confirmed circuit shorted, put some amperage through the circuit with a power probe and scanned with the imager. Wouldn't recommend this process to just anyone or any circuit though, could end up letting the smoke outta stuff real quick lol...

Everything on a boat should have a fuse or circuit breaker so if the wire size is correct it will pop or blow the fuse before the wire smokes and shorts something bigger to ground, open wires can be found with a tester shorts find them selves..
