posting for a friend, does anybody have an aluminum flywheel for a 35 xs. thanks, jeremy:confused:

Im pretty sure he said he needed an aluminum flywheel for 35 XS, hes building an 81 model 2 cylinder 40 so thats what its for. thanks, jeremy

1977 thru 1983 are the years and they are 2 cylinders ... some have covers that say 35ss, some say 402x, some say both; none of them say 35xs and none of them used an aluminum flywheel

sorry for the mixup, your right its a 35SS. But he still says some of them used an aluminum (and steel) flywheel. Does the stock flywheel for the ss use aluminum??:confused:

I doubt an aluminum ring would not have been able to safely hold the ignition magnets
They all use the stock flywheel: steel ring and flex plate, no special part; in fact it was one of the complaints some racers had about the motor, they imagined that the flywheel kept motor speed up too much in the turns.

The good thing about a allummin flywheel is it is lite and don't sink your boat.:D I have stock flywheels for that motor.
