My 2918 90F Yamaha that came on my 21' pontoon came with a 13 5/8 x 14-K aluminum propeller and it would run about 23-24 MPH at 6k RPM. Not being a fan of aluminum props, I went on the Yamaha site and used their calculator and it suggested a 13 1/8 x 16 SS Talon SS as an all around prop. Now after purchasing and installing the RPM is 5k (lost 1k) at about 25 MPH (+1-2). Recommended RPM is 5-6k. I am thinking of having the Talon re-pitched to a 15.... any thoughts or recommendations? On my STV Euro prop swapping is easy, not sure on the pontoons.

I do not think going down one inch of pitch is going to be enough for you to get your 1000 RPMs back. Would be curious if you put the aluminum prop back on, do the RPMs come back up? Just want to make sure we are dealing 100% with the Prop issue. You are definitely loading the motor more because you have more rake on that prop I bet.
