I have a HC5345 Seastar steering cylinder that I removed from my Talon and put in my Cougar. The 90 degree hose fittings on the front of the cylinder are pointing to port which was fine on the Talon because the hoses ran down the port side of the boat however they run down the starboard side in the Cougar. I talked to the technical dept at Teleflex and they strongly suggest I leave the fittings as they are and route the hoses around and back to them because he said that would stop the hoses from chaving as you steer the motor. The fittings appear to be "red" Locktighted into place.

Has anyone ever changed ther direction on these fittings?? Any suggestions??

Thanks

I changed mine aswell . I have one to port and the other to stbd . Just make sure that you have complete clearance lock to lock .

It says somewhere in the manual that you first torque them to specs and then rotate them.

I tried to turn them back but they won't move. How did you break them free to turn them back?? I am guessing with a little heat. Would you them remove them ,clean the threads and red Locktight them into their new position?? Or the method you used??
Thanks
