2017 300xs. Motor runs fine until I touch the trim. Every time I hit the trim it will blow the fuse to shut the ignition off. Small fuse holder under cowl with 4 fuses. This is the Off shore External trim pump inside the boat that is a year old. I've tried checking and cleaning all connections to trim pump so far. Anyone had anything similar happen?

Either someone has something wired wrong to where your red power to the trim button is also being used to power something else in the engine or dash board that is drawing more than the amps it was designed for. OR you have one of your small blue/green wires going to the trim pump solenoids/relays is hitting ground and blowing the fuse.

Does the fuse blow when you trim in either direction or just one? What amp is the fuse?
You could also have a relay going bad if you have relays on the trim not solenoids.

2017 should be the 14 pin connector
Do you use an adapter harness
Essentially you just power the trim relais with the trim button
Maybe one of trim wires is put into the analog trim sensor connector, that would short it to groung through the sensor!?

I will check if it is both directions. If its only one I will swap the relays. Good idea! I didnt notice. Been running fine for 1 year with this set up. I will also check the small wires. I believe it is a 15A
