Saw this article in this months "Trailer Boats". It's a 26 1/2 ft pontoon boat that has twin 300 Pro Maxes on it. The test Was done at Mercury's Lake X. Just incase you couldn't read it.

I believe he has beat that (83) with his tritoon and it only had twin 225s on it. He has another that is wearin a solo 225ProMax and its clockin 61.

I would LOVE to have that rig in a bass tournament and put everyone else on the trailer! Who would admit to being dusted by a toonie?

lmfao,
RA

ps
Sure cheaper and easier to maintain than one of those $150K, 100+ mph California partycats!!!

i live on lake tarpon and i have a 20 ft bass tracker with the b scratched off of it we party on when the mirage is not on the water and it bas a 3rd pontoon 1/4 of the way back with a 115 jonnyrude on it and i thought it moved pretty damn good, but in the 80;s that is nuts.im mean i race the elderly folks and i smoke them but that is insane for a pt.

Like passing a searay or some other small cruiser with a toon full of people waving at them and see the owner lean on the throttle like its gonna come up with more hp all of a sudden and then ya just keep on pulling by him as all of us on moms toon raise our glasses to the searay as we go buy!
(can ya tell I beat up onda searay owners in our area!!)

Ever see a toon launch outa the hole like one of our fast boats and then plane off........Moms toon does......
Its cool watching the look on somebodies face the first time they go out with you on it....
Also the look on someones face when they are cruzin wide open and see ya coming out of the side of there vision...there head turns to look and then they look twice they can't believe its a toon passing them.
Kinda funny watching peoples forearm flexing and leaning on the go stick like there is anymore there to get:):)
Been on odyssey's 70+ mph toon it was with twin ruderams.
That was a rush!
Dad and I drew up plans for a 18 or 20 footer toon with a 2.5 on the back. Odyssey was willing to build it half way for us...but then I went with the Riot.
Still think a 20 foot toon with a reverse radar arch and a killer sound system doing 80+ would rock!!
Hell if I had one I would enter it in the grudge drags!!
:):)
K.K.

The question I have to ask is, who would want to go 80 in a pontoon? That is really strange. However, I would love to see the look on the face of some Baja/Fountain owner as you blew by them in that booze cruiser.

when I read the thread I was expecting a deck boat. I remember in Hot Boat years ago ( I think Warlock) built a deck boat on there offshore tunnell ( I think 24') with twin 200 Johnsons went (I think) low 70's. It was funny they had a picture with about 6 or 8 bikini clad girls sitting on the front trying to smile with the skin on there faces peeled back.

BUT, GEEZE !!! this is an aluminum pontoon boat....that's insane!!:D

Now, I just wonder, some lightweight flooring, loose a couple seats, a little more engine hieght, ditch the side rails, lighten up the console......hmmmmm....85....90. :D :D :D :D

and I just had to resurrect this thread! I was so amazed by the twins on the back, that I forgot to take a picture of the overall boat. I wish we could have gotten a ride.....

Holy ^%@#$ Toon!

A guy has a Yammi 150 on a glass hulled toon on our lake, but the aluminum....talk about airing it out!:D :D That glass toon makes killer wakes pulling 3 tubes, I have to be carefull around him.

A guy on our home lake (Shelbyville) just got 1 exactly like that one (about 2 weeks ago) could it be the same one?
When I talked to him Sat he had just got the motors broken in and had it up to 73 mph he said there was more left.
I did get to watch him going down the lake, man what a hoot watching him pass all those offshore rigs

See Ya Rob

I wonder if the pontoons are doing double-duty as fuel tanks!
Otherwise the range may be rather "limited"!!

It's definitly time for a trade in when you get passed by a toon.
If, that is, you survive your heart attack.

I hope people dont start buying these toons with twin motors and go too far .What kind of speeds do you think this thing is capable of?Toons aint made strong enough to take a hook at 80 plus, that boat will kill the man who hooks or rolls it.As kool as it looks,i think this is a very bad idea.

Look at those pontoons..Those arent your standard round logs there..I still would be leary of it at those speeds and that much power...

ALL THESE RECORDS HAVE BEEN WITH A ROUND TOONE, THERES A COMPANY IN FRESNO, CAL THAT MAKES A 8 SIDED FLAT TOONES.
GREGOR BOAT CO...I BET WITH ONE OF THESE THE RECORD CAN BE BROKEN ....TIME WILL TELL..MAYBE SOME WILL TRY WITH A PAIR OF THE "GREEN" MOTORS THAT ARE GETTING READY TO COME OUT SOON..:D :D :D :D

Hehehe; don't forget to take the canopy down or you might kite it:D :D I bet it would pick up something with a sleeker nose on there than that railing...;)

The scariest part to me is that I don't see a tie bar between those 2 300X's, what keeps the gearcases straight? Toe in or toe out are critical at those speeds.

Good point about the tie bar.......and it could also do double duty as a place to hang on while you practice barefoot'n!!
Damn, I can't take my LaveyCraft out anymore for fear I'm gonna get past by a damn 'toon boat!!
:D

sho305

Barefoot! You could mount a nice bar off the railing that hung out the back...even a platform to get to it.

The things I see on here continue to amaze:)

Time Warp.....thanks, but no thanks....the last time I tried something like that I was black and blue for weeks...even with wearing some special "crash protection" suit the boat driven loaned me!! .....but I can say that I "footed" for a few seconds anyway! ....I'll stick to kneeboarding....much slower crash speed.
