2.5 exh plate question

did all 2.5 exh plates have the large hex head plugs in the side. if not what year did they go to it. i have a plate and it does not have them. not sure if it's a 2.4 plate. does anybody have a casting number off of a known 2.4 plate. thanks, erik

The early 260's and 245's up thru 1992 didn't have the plugs. 1993 on had them and they are use a 3/4 NPT . Although you could modify the early style to have them installed , some welding is required. A holesaw, a pc of aluminum tubing , tap , and a good welder can do it. Be sure to keep the weld and heat away from the sealing surface so as not to warp it and cause a leak.
