WOULD LIKE TO PICK THE GURU'S KNOWLEDGE A BIT. I HAVE A MERC V-6 WITH A PROBLEM I'VE NEVER HAD BEFORE. WHEN I FLOOR THE HOTFOOT....FOR A FEW SECONDS I GET NEAR NUTHIN'. MAYBE JUST ENOUGH UMMP TO BEGIN THE NOSE LIFT. THEN IT HOLDS FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS . THEN IT STARTS TO WIND UP TO FULL POWER. I'M NOT THINKING ITS FUEL BUT COULD BE. RUNS GREAT AT FULL THROTLE. MY OTHER THOUGHT WAS THE TRIGGER. BUT I REALLY SHOULD'NT THINK SO DAMN MUCH. THATS WHY I'M ASKING THOSE THAT REALLY KNOW.

THANXS GUYS.,
STEVE

Mine was doing the same thing...when ya floored it...it would just sit there waiting for a holiday. A few seconds later it would pick up and take off...talk about delay.

It was my carbs...the main jets were gummed up with fuel crud. Actually they didn't even look that bad...took them apart, cleaned them and really didn't think it would change anything...but it did.

One little trick you might try to see if it's lack of fuel it to hit the enrichment at the same time you nail the throttle. Mine would hesitate less which meant I had a fuel problem.

If this isn't a carbed mota...well as Rossanna Rossanna Danna would say "Oh...never mind"...:D

The easiest way to trouble shoot a fuel or ignition problem is try hitting your enricher (push in your key) When you hit the throttle. The fuel cell should be enough to give you some idea if your lacking fuel at low end. When you push your key and your problem somewhat goes away then you know there must be some kind of dirt in your carburation. Start yanking carbs and clean away! Problem fixed! Good Luck!
