Just watched it.

Killer video.

Say/think what you want about the guy but he put his money where is mouth is and took on all challenges.

I always love seeing that big vee on the pad at 178!

Heard many times that he copied the Allison bottom design but never seen him say it until in this video.

Thank for sharing!

Yep it's a good one and well worth watching.Just think all his deep V boat design was inspired by a 70's model 20ft Allison !

WAIT A MINUTE FELLOWS ,,, Ole Gator on here told me that he was working for Critchfield Sr. when they built the first pad V . so Allison copied Chritchfield. little known fact

The boat that killed a good friend (former co-pilot) of Reggie.

Reggie states after the death, he would not build another dangerous-fast-tunnel boat like this one again.

We tried to keep him in business.....we owned 5 different Fountains. Hence the screen name. Didnt agree with everything he said or did, but the man can build a fast, safe boat. Thanks for the video link.

I was thumbing through youtube one evening , looking at hydrostream videos and just fast boats in general, when I came across the Reggie Fountain documentary. My dad had a offshore boat in Destin Florida for several years. I remembered seeing the large loud powerboats with Fountain on the side screaming around through rough ass water. I sat there and was amazed at the story of Reggie and his rise through the racing field. It really was interesting to see the evolution of boat design and a man who was determined to win at all costs, and to put the boats out there in the markets where the money was. He practiced what he preached and put no person in a boat he would not feel safe in. Truly a great story.
