Like many of you, I’m constantly buying items/parts that are shipped to me.
We live in the middle of nowhere, so probably doing more than most.
Of those shipments, probably 90% come by FedX or UPS, and 99.9% are either on time or early.
Yrs back I became infatuated by their efficiency when tracking their shipments online.
Some of it is amazing!
Normally it hits a DC and is out on a truck in 2 or 3hrs which amazes me.
Then there’s our mail system!
Currently tracking a shipment from Great Britain (a coil for my MG) that I ordered on May 19th.
Seller gave a “deliver by” date of June 10th.
Seller did his job and shipped on the 20th.
May 25th I get notice of an “early arrival”.
It listed new due date of the 28th.
I was geeked.
In time to install and take the car out on one of our first nice days.
Of coarse it was a no show.
It made it to the international hub in Chicago on the 25th and……..,has been there ever since!
And I can’t do anything about it since it’s not passed it’s June 10th due date.
I just ordered pts for my new work car and paid an extra $3 so it didn’t go USPS!
A similar issue a couple months back w/parts from a British car place in Michigan who ships small stuff USPS to cut expenses.
Normally get stuff in 2 or 3 days.
Had two, back to back issues where I tracked the shipment from him to the Detroit Dc, to our local DC, then to Georgia!
And back to me a wk later!
Other one did same but went Tennessee and back!
Best one was one that actually went to Russia and back!
On one occasion of a missing/over due shipment I contacted the hub.
Was approx a wk over due.
The DC couldn’t find it then laughed and said, oh that’s not late!
Give it time, it’ll turn up.
Which it did.
2 wks late!
They appear to run as efficiently as the IRS!
Always out of money, always begging for more “EMERGENCY” funding, always an excuse.
Their long term postmaster general just retired a couple yrs back and even though he left them billions in debt, he got a 2.3 million $ bonus on retirement!
Only in the US government does this make sense!

Agreed!
the USPS blows
last summer I had 4 items delivered same day
(2) UPS
(1) Amazon
(1) USPS -with tracking
I get home - 3 boxes on stoop
No USPS
I track the item - says delivered
Go to Post Office. - the jerkoff behind the counter blamed “Porch Pirates”
Really?
Left 3 other boxes
But took only the 1 USPS?
D-Bag!
Contacted the shipper - California Car Cover Co.
”Sorry - we’re not responsible”
So I’m out $65
F the USPS
F the California Car Cover Company!
FJB!

I've had USPS loose more mail in the last 6 months than they did in the previous 10 years. I guess that's what happens when you fill positions on a quota system as opposed to a merit system. They need more "qualified help" not just bodies.

You are preaching the the choir!!!
I mailed a check for insurance on my two trucks.
If you are late, the insurance company has no problems with ratting you out and THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD.
Last time this happened, I had to pay a fine with a cashiers check to the state of Lousyana for $150 (for each vehicle) to get my drivers license reinstated. Funny, they won't take a personal check, but will if you are paying your TAXES!!!
Next bill I watched my checking account to make sure it clears... I mailed it 2 weeks early. I watched my checking account online. Two days before it was due, I said F**K IT and paid it online.
Now I do virtually everything on my CC or a bank draft. They, the liberal USPS, built this. F**K them!!! 505589

And here is a story for ya.
Small old farming town in the South. 80-85% POC.
Assistant postmaster was checking mail. Any payment involving a money order was taken.
His wife was cashing them. No telling how long this went on.
He was fired, but no jail time, no restitution.
It is not only who you know, but race is a huge factor.
Prove me wrong.

Same story here. Most anything the government is involved with goes South. I pay all my bills electronically.
Amazon prime will spoil me.

Trying to pay a guy in FL for shipping costs from eBay. Mailed a money order. TWO months later, the envelope is returned because the address given to me was ONE digit off??! My local post office is a dream and I'm not gonna tell you where it is. They operate like an Amazon locker taking deliveris from FedEx, UPS and Amazon. Parcels can be everyday stuff to well equipment and auto parts. They get a little bitchy when pre-hung doors and lawnmower boxes show up. For those who are writing paper checks to pay bills, your days are numbered.

Most of the local offices are good but their infrastructure sucks.
A family member mailed me a thank you card from 30 mls away.
Was in my mail box 5 business days later!
And on my missing MG coil?
Still no updates since 5/25!
Ordered another one from Summit Racing (didn’t know they could get it) yesterday/Friday, UPS, will be here Monday!
Yeah let’s give them a couple more billion to bail them out for 3 more yrs!

It’s a miracle I tell yah!
Only took 10 mail days to process through the Chicago facility!
May have been prompted by me asking the seller to step in on his side.
What a crock!

One thing is for sure, I don't have to spend any more money on stamps! I have a full roll and part of another. At this rate I might send two letters out a month.
They lost my trust. I send anything out, it is going UPS or FedEx.
