How do you guys mark jets that you have re-sized??
No only am I making my self go blind trying to read the damn things, but also trying to keep them seperated.
I have a small set of number stamps but don't think it will work w/o crushing tthe jets.
Thans for your help fellars!

I mean on the jets them selves so I don't have to freak myself out and double check them every time I take them out of the bags
you know what I mean, the 82's that are marked as 78's!

If you have a drill press, make a jet block out of aluminum or plastic plate. 1/2" thick will do but 5/8" is better. Set of holes for each size and stamp the sizes on the block. The C and D are 1/4 - 20 thread. Orifices are 8-32 thread? This keeps them nicely organized and protected. You can also see at a glance if any are missing.

I use 35 MM film canisters and write the size on the tops.

I check the first one or two with the non-business end of the carb jet drills I have, after that, I trust the rest of the ones in the container.

I bought a fly box for fly fishing. It is clear and I have a piece of thick paper on the inside cut to fit the lid. On the out side I put what size jets are in each section and on the inside I put what jets are in the motor, just incase I forget. LOL!

OK, old man. You are gonna have to do like me and go your local drug store and pic up some specs! I am usnig 125s right now. I also have a back lighted magnifying glass.

Getting old sucks, eh Gary?:)

If I don't have the right jet and do re-size it , I change it to the right jet ASAP. There is more to a jet than just the hole size. I throw away the re-sized jets.

Paul, freagin lighted magnnifying glass is on the list.

Jeff, have been to the Al Stoker School of carburetor jetting art and design.
will go one or two sizes max by reaming.
I know that the OMC jets have taperd lead ins which effects flow.
Also that drilling leaves scoring/rifling in the bore that disturb flow vs factory finish.
A tool maker buddy of mine helped me figure them out also.
comparing our/his reamed finish to factory.
Also found some variable in actual sizes vs marked.
Your are right though, much deeper subject than appears on the surface.
