Just joined now that I have an Outboard boat again

Hello everyone, I have been a bilge rat, Mercury outboard fan since the 80's. I have owned a Needle nose STV and Eliminator 23 Daytona, and presently have a 10 Meter Fountain I thought I die with that will be offered for sale soon. I grew up boating in the Chesapeake, have lived at Jersey Shore and now hiding from salt water on Lake Travis in central Texas. I have raced offshore for many years and now looking to retire: Although my friends think otherwise. My website in my signature shows the boats I have raced. After restoring my 10 Meter I am planning on doing the same to the 28 Skater I just purchased from a friend. I just posted its engines for sale in the market place. This should be the last boat I restore. Anyway that is the plan.

Thanks Guys, I am second owner of my '85 10 Meter. I raised the drives and cleaned her up the best I could while keeper her true to date as produced. She has lived inside most of her life and has received lots of love.

Long story for another time but in short, I got to meet Reggie when he was running his first version of the 10M in the inner-coastal near Jupiter. He had built the boat at the excaliber plant. My best friends dad, "my hero", flagged him down and we ended up in the boat. We went to Reggie's house in N.C. on the way home (he was just getting moved up there)--we stayed for 3 days and placed an order for a new 82' 10M executioner (440s with Gil Exhaust, #3 speedmasters) the boat ran 73 mph and we were the kings. When the boat was delivered, I was the driver at 12 years old because I had my boaters safety certificate and my buddy was only 11. His dad would take off in his 46 sea ray and we would run "our boat". I knew at 11 years old that I had to have one of them and got an 89' 35 lightning just before my 21st B-day. Those boats will always have a special place with me--glad to see you are preserving yours.
