Does anyone know of pics that might be available of custom seats that have been built for an XTB-21? I'm wondering how it would look to lose the swivel bass seats that can be moved around, and lose the shell/bucket driver's seat, and replace them all with small, custom made bench style seats for the back, and something matching for the driver's seat. I can envision it but was hoping someone had gone down this road before and posted pics.

Check out Amazon. They have some seats that would look good in a performance boat

Might make something like the bench seat in like in my SS? Where you can take it out.... ?

I have an XTB 21 and was thinking of making a ridged passenger seat, just for safety's sake.

A removable bench seat in the rear is a great idea though!

I don't think you would want a bench style seat driving an Allison. The side bolstering buckets come in handy when the boat gets, its own ideas.:D As for the back seat, mine came with a rear bench bottom and rear pads on hinges. It worked really well. It might not be the cheapest route, but call Bill at Allison. They're great to work with, and can get you just what you want. Great people all around.

I wouldn't go with a true bench for the driver's seat. What's in it now is the old original shell bucket that swivels, and it isn't very stable either. I was thinking something with side bolsters. The boat is an '86, with the original gelcoat, but the seats are just outdated .......... even with the new seat covers from Allison. I've made other mods to it, too, such as eliminating the long, narrow floor locker before the re-carpeting a couple years ago.

The rear ones would have to be two separate, one-person, bench seats because of the little center hatch compartment between them. It's no longer a "bass boat", but a repurposed river runner and sandbar boat. So, the movable, folding rear seats that could be put on the foredeck and rear pedestals are unnecessary now.

It's fun thinking it through ahead of time, and looking at similar seating in other boats, like the V21s Wally built, for instance.

No, I was thinking the back bench seat, like on my SS 2000. You can take it out to fish or what ever.

I was talking a fixed passenger left hand seat on my XTB 21. With grab handles! I mean if you are going to beat on it, hang on!

Oops, I'm getting the Allisons I owned mixed up. Age does that, lol. I did end up buying another bucket for the front passenger seat, and drilled and tapped a bolt into the plate below to keep it from swiveling. Used an allen head, and left the allen under the cushion for quick removal. I liked having the post mount, because it worked for pulling a skiier, or when the weather was snotty, the wife could turn around. She was not fond of that boat, didn't like the wind blast. Like you, I thought the xtb was the perfect beach cruiser. Like all my Allison's, I miss that one.

I always like these boats. I wanted to get one a reconfigure the seats to make it as open and functional as well.I found a V21 a few years ago and kinda did that with it. Just kept the 2 front buckets and removed the bench and sun pad.Got plenty of room now 502498

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Nice looking job on the V21, JBS. I've done some mods to the Allison over the last couple winters. It's an '86 model with the original gelcoat. About a year ago it was wet sanded (to 6000 grit) and buffed. Re-carpeted it with original style carpet from Allison. While I was doing the re-carpeting I eliminated the long, narrow floor locker that it had, glassed the hole up solid, and went over it with new carpet. I like it much better gone. Replaced a lot of dash (and other) panels with carbon fiber, and new AutoMeter Pro comp gauges (GPS speedometer is backordered, probably waiting for a micro-chip). During the wet-sand I eliminated the big Allison decal on both sides. I like it much better without it, smoother looking IMO.

Running a 240 with aftermarket alien cowl, right now. My Saturday lunch buddy Mike, at Outback Outboards, is assembling a 260 for it right now. The old 240 was built by Wisenecker (sp?), then refreshed by Clemens, and is still going strong. I run either a four blade 28 Hoss or a Mercury chopper 28.

Nice looking boat! Like the color too.Post some pics of the inside please. I looked at a few XBs over the years and decided they didn't have the room for me .

Mine is the exact same color. Looks great! How much set back are you running?

Thanks, Allison calls it platinum, and black.

Fourteen inches setback, with the shaft even with the pad. I've got two batteries, with a four position battery switch, positioned in the port rear compartment, to help balance the driver's weight, and a couple bags of shot in the port rod locker, directly opposite the driver's seat. It just won't balance on pad without that, when I'm running by myself, as I usually am. That's the biggest gripe I have about the XTBs. If the right deal came along I'd likely go to an '02, to get the center steering and lose the ballast. I hate adding weight to a boat. I'd hate to get rid of this one, though. Really solid boat.

I'll try to get some inside pics this afternoon.

Thanks for the positive comments!

Thanks for the info! Not to many of these XTB21s around. I am putting a 10" on mine with a 200EFI I figure that will help. Motor battery is in the center, trollers are in the each of the aft compartments. Balance isn't really that much of a concern as I am fishing out of this one. I have an XB 2002 CompPro the same color, if I need to go fast. I need to get them in the water at the same time and take some pics.

And looking at it, you would have to ax the console in the rear to put a bench seat like my SS has. Didn't think of that.... That might be an option though...

You did a good job on the interior. There's plenty of room in there. The seat looks good too.
Forking, you've got it's litter mate! Another pretty boat!

Pretty boat, FC. The 10" of setback should definitely help it. What year is yours? I notice just a bit of difference in how far the black comes down the sides on mine, as compared to yours. Notice that? Hint: look at the pic of mine that shows the port side, rear corner, of the boat.
