I read the article. It indicated excessive tail lift. I'm not sure with the stock lip it's a good match. JM2cts.

I've had my SS2000 for a long time, but have not had a working speedo with the current 200XS for a few seasons. Hopefully I can get it working in the spring. I have a 24 drag 4 and a 25 drag 3. Quick, easy to drive, but too low pitch for top end. I have a 28 Triton and a 28 T4X to try to run fast. When I had a 150 on it, my fastest props were a Triton and a small ear chopper.

We get a lot of rough water where we are and the SS2000 seems pretty good in waves, but my basis of comparison is my brother's Charger DL and my previous Hydrostream Virage. Was the XR better in rough water?

I tried a 28 clever on mine,it liked the 28 Hoss better.
28 chopper worked best for me,kinda wish I still had them for the V21.

I think maybe a 20ft Allison that has no lip and is not carrying a bunch of weight in the bow would do well with a cleaver... I'm going to try on this spring on my XB2003

I have tried a cleaver in the past and it made the stern loose. I have a 34 Promax that Nick [Mercury Racing] worked and the blades have an ET look. It runs well now. Thanks Again Nick!

Pretty much the scenario with my bass racer/ no lip. I had a 200XS on it, and the no lip made it stick to the water. Put a good 260 on it, and it ran like stink. The cleaver was fun, definitely freed up the rear a bit. But for the long haul, chopper 2 with a Hydromotive knob cut was my overall favorite. The cleaver never felt like it took a set, which could be fun at times. Definitely ran flat, I saw a pic of me running it that looked like you could slide a piece of paper under the entire hull.:D

OP- just like women can never have too many shoes, a guy can never have too many props.:D
