What is the largest HP outboard you have seen on 14 or foot or smaller v-hull boat without it being just an uncontrollable death trap?

In the 70’s I had a 28 hp Evinrude on a ‘58 14’ molded plywood Wolverine
33 mph
Plenty quick for a 12 year old!

Easy, Wildmans 13’ sort of Checkmate with a Promax. He is still alive, so not a complete death trap

He might not be "still alive" if he ran it above 80. I agree Randy's 13' with a 225 takes the prize.

I had a 16' Sabre was twin 120hp Chryslers with hi-speed gearcases, not sure how fast it was cause it would jump out of the water when you hit wide open.

15' Allison with a 150XS merc. It was fun, fast, and a little scary. Just right, IMO
13' Twistercraft approx 200# empty weight with a 150xs and a 150 shot of nitrous on T2 mid with a speedmaster.

For any of you Long Island folks that remember Tobay marina in its hey day... used to be a guy went by the name Beer Can Charlie, he had a kit boat 12 or 13' long copy of a Superboat with a 40 Evinrude. He was friends with my parents, so one day I'm coming down the dock and he's talkin to my old man, he says "go ahead take it out" and tosses me the keys. Crazy doesn't even describe it well, at half throttle there was only motor in the water.....didn't have the cohones to open it up then

More of a flat bottom than a v-hull, but my 10' invader with a 79 johnson 55hp seemed tame enough even with cable steering and worn motor mounts. 48mph gps.
