Over the last 15 years or so I have owned many different boats. Almost all of them light weight and most of them sufficiently powered. Owned a bunch of props such as ETs, choppers, Yamaha drag and modified versions. Lift was never an issue. Now I am trying to get a sled to run. 19' Hawk that feels like barge to me. I have not worked at all on set-up due to weather and life getting in the way. Boat is rigged for fishing only with troller on the bow and three batteries and a 40 gallon fuel tank. Motor is a 200xs on a jack plate and currently has a 25 Tempest. Put a 26 Ballistic on it but have not had a chance to run it. Just read the Ballistic thread and the thread did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling as they were deemed mostly junk. The rig runs 72 with me only in the boat but feels like it is glued to the water. Open to suggestions.

Give it a try. Tempest is really good bow lifting prop. I don't know if it gets any better than that. Can you move any weight back in the boat? Maybe more setback?
Lower /raise the engine? Your speed seems pretty good for a 200.

Just because it doesn’t wash the numbers and scare the hell out of you doesn’t mean it’s glued, Rock! :D

A Bravo XS will give you the lift you're looking for.

Bravo is probably a good call.
Usually have to go up in pitch and higher on the plate. Versus a tempest.
I bet rock knew that though.
I'm only getting about 69 to 70 out of a 20' champion with a worn out 225efi. Also running 25p tempest.

Several years back I sold my 300xs to a buddy and we hung it on a 22' Bullet. He is running a Bravo and loves it. May have to see if there is one around to try.

I have heard a lot of guys liking the bravo props, a buddy is running a29 bravo on his 03 allison with a250 pro xs, best he can get is about 86, as a down side, I have heard several people saying that they do sling ears , maybe just rumors, as I bought a 30 bravo to try on mine, but am way too happy with the drag 4 to swap it over, I also have a 25 tempest and it was a really nice prop, great out of the whole and would wind up really quick, but did not really have that top end for me.

Will, it sounds like you have a sweet ride.
Doubt you will ever get passed on blast off.
I see some guys using bravos on their 21' Bullets.
Your on the money about going fast though.
Jack that thing up with a lwp and run a 4 blade over the hub prop.
Was guessing rock didn't have a lwp.
I've got a 28p 4 blade cleaver on my laser. Super easy to drive. I also run a 28p Signature eagle 4 blade on my bullet, with good results. Nowhere as fast as your going. Maybe one of these days I'll invest in a hot motor.

I've had a lot of help from this website on set ups and lots of other details i absolutely love my motor,a7200 rpm beast, there were some sacrifices, my dad was a huge part in leading me to where I am now, I just want to try and help anyone I can with what has worked, ( and not worked) through my experiences

Don't really expect this rig to run much faster. Not nearly fast enough to need a cone. Only have a 200 on it and it is a heavy boat. I just want it to lift up out of the water and carry the bow. Currently not happening. Water is presently very cold and will soon be very hard here in Illinois so I have till this spring to round up a wheel. Appreciate the suggestions and info.

My old champion loved a trophy, similar hull to yours i believe. The best lift came from a b&b yamaha t-1 but a small hub trophy was great all around.

Trophy was my first thought. I have owned several Champions and really like the boats. Was told the Hawk may have been a splash of the Champion.

Best part of that g2 was when everyone else was out of fuel i still had over 1/2 a tank at full speed lol on 87

I've got a 26p trophy messed around with it on the bullet, but haven't tried it on the champion. Maybe I need to.
Tried a 26p fury and liked the tempest better on the champ. It's hard to take the champion out when I got the bullet. I reserve it for rough days or if I'm taking someone out and want the deck space.
I rode in a G3 as a coangler in a couple local tournaments. I still remember making a long run up a twisty river sliding around corners in that boat. It had 150 Yamaha and run about 60. If my memory serves me right.

The fellow with the G3 that I co angled with won the local BASS Federation Nation 4 tournament series, beating Brandon Palaniuk. They both went to state. Where Brandon beat him. Palaniuk went on to win regionals and I believe nationals. Where he qualified for the Bassmaster Classic. One of few to ever do so through the Federation Nation. That's the way I remember it anyway.
He has since gone on to win Angler of the year in the elite series.

That's awesome, my good friend Matt Robinson qualified and fished last year, he finished 6th in the elite series, I would kill for a chance to go fish out myself, unfortunately work keeps me from being able to go 3 or 4 days a week to prep. Maybe one day :)

Sorry, had to edit my posts. I was calling a G3 a G2. Confused. Think my brain is frozen. Been real cold here.
I think I need a fur coat.

Sharrow props, anyone get any real life use of these?

I have alot of props. But nothing that looks like that.
Wonder what the propeller shops think when someone brings one in to be straightened out? This is the closest I have.

I'm just trying to figure out how it has all the thrust and top end, it's kinda reminds me of a cross between a jet drive and regular prop if that makes since, but with out the surface area, how does it move a big boat as easily as they say it does

OnPad

I would guess by having the loop trapping water on the initial bite. Kinda like a extreme cupping. If that makes any sense. In other words it doesn't allow water to slip of the tip of blade. But that's just guessing.

I bet if they really tried to run one out fast on a lighter boat, you would see that graph swing the other way. Most likely ending in a impressive wreck.

I agree with that

I looked at the Sharrow web site. $4900 each. The order form only asks what HP your motor is, it does not ask rpm, type of boat, use...

Dave your on fire tonight!
Wasn't it Reggie Fountain stole his mom's ham, to rub pork grease on the bottom of his little boat. Good video of Reggie's history floating around the web if you haven't seen it.
