Merc Lower Unit on an OMC

I have heard of guys putting Merc lower units on OMC. Has anyone ever done this. How is the shifting modified to be compatable? OMC is a push-pull shifter and merc is a turning shifter so how are they hooked up.

OH MY next thing you will be putting a MERC on your boat, May The Force BE With You.:D When I was a kid I wanted to put a Omc lower on my Merc, for better water pump style. Don't bother too much changes.
