ECU choices and developments confuse me, maybe others.
[LIST=1]
What are the different types
Which, if any, are adjustable.
What differences are there between them.
Why would one be used instead of another.
Pros and cons of digital VS. analog
Best ECU for the [u]performance[u] buck.

Well I have an '89 2.4 something, possibly modified. I was really interested in the differnt types of ECUs because it seems like there are so many types.
The ECU says A10/T3 but thats scratched on by Rapair

Is it a digital A10? The newer case? If so it's a roundy box kinda rich 56PSI with an 8600 limiter. I think there was an analog unit with the same number though. Does it have 2 plugs on it or 1. or is the adjustment on the front or the back?????

Big square box, 1 plug, if theres an adjustment it's on the outside side stbd. 48 psi.

I guess I wasn't clear enough, On the outside of the box that faces you is there 1 or 2 of those black cap plugs. or is the cap on the back.......

It's apparently missing the plug but there's a hole and a something there, probably an adjustment. Just one though. On the outside.

That would make it an analog box. Yes, it's adjustable, but you need the tester to do it. You'd be better off with the digital. They start and idle better and they're more responsive. They don't die when you chop the throttle. They don't need a throttle position sensor. Is this some kind of 2.4 Mod VP or a Bridgeport with a center air horn????? Let me know if you want to change it over to digital.....

BILL, what would be involved in changing a 1989 EFI 2.4 bridgeport over to digital box?What would be the benefits/and cost..last would it be worth it on this engine?

But not a BP. It is a center air horn EFI But the block was painted silver over black paint. I understand that it had something done to it, as porting. I've seen the ports and don't see how they could be any bigger, exhaust side any way. No bridge.

On a 2.4 you always run the risk of explosion. I've seen so many unexplained failures on those it's ridiculous. The digital boxes are always gonna run better. It's up to you guys if you want to spend the money. I can give you any box you want, it will run nicer everywhere but we know it's not gonna be cheap. If you want to do it I'll help you out as best I can. We can modify your wiring harness and put on a digital unit, not a big deal. Give me a call.....847-356-3245.......
