What a great bunch of cool boats! It’s cool to see a large selection of boats in one area.

running south out on the ICW after Gilberts you have to take a jog east and get over closer to the land masses and run south again, not sure exactly where and that is why I want to go with some locals and get it mapped on GPS to find it again, have to be very careful as the shallows will wreck your day.

Even w/it mapped on my GPS, I still missed some of the cuts.

One trip we tried taking the Sonic to Picnic Island but I wussed out part way there.

Knowing if we ran aground, we/I’d tear up two props/cases in a boat too big/heavy to push back in the water…….

looking over the side while underway and seeing the bottom, crystal clear……., you couldn’t tell if it was 2’ deep or 12’ deep!

Very intimidating to me.

We went in to Hog Heaven by boat a bunch of times, but always off plane.
One time I just happened to be standing at the entrance of their harbor when a twin OB center console similar in size to our Sonic was leaving.

He popped on plane and took off!

I learned something.

Was excited to tell/show my wife my discovery upon leaving.

Theres a 45* dog leg a short distance out and the channel is very narrow.
I misjudged the dog leg and drove it in the dirt!

Luckily we were able to get back into deep water.

Always went back off plane after that

Most fun I’ve had down there is following friends that knew the area

Definitely have to pay attention down there. The color of the water helps to for whether it’s deep or not but sometimes on the bay side that doesn’t work. Lol.

First time we ran that mangrove cut on the west side of Robbies, it was definitely a little pucker factor, especially since we were following an 18’ flats boat. Haha.

Was hoping to get back down before end of the year but not sure if it will happen.

Days when the water is crystal clear it's a breeze but when its been windy and its all the same murky color doing the shoreline run around the points and thru the cuts is a challenge. One good thing is the west side is mostly just sand, the east side is a different story. Gary remember the night we all went to the restaurant in marathon... jeez trying to find our way out in the pitch black was crazy... and we smoked everybody out when we cranked up the STV/Rude running on 32:1. Good times.
