Is there any difference between the two inline canister style fuel filters? I think the purolator number I recently got from discount was F33165 (3/8" barb on each end)
It appeared to be the same as the Kinsler filter from Mercury.
Anyone know for sure???
(This was in General Discussion, so I thought I'd ask it here.)

Z MAN,
The measurement standard for filters is microns. Unless you are using exotic fuels, like methanol, etc., the automotive
filters will generally work fine and will save you money. That's what I use. Just take your filters off occaisionally and blow through them in the direction of gas flow. If you can't blow through them, ditch them and replace. A stopped filter means:
1. You have a fuel system component that's going bad, usually a bad hose that's delaminating internally. Try to find the source of the contamination and replace it.
2. You're going lean. A bad condition for a 2 stroke.

Steve
