Were you ever to get your motor to run warm enough to break it in?

I am having the same problems with mine, and with 4 hours on the motor at 120*, I don't know if I will have the same problems you did, and have to re-rebuild.

Even though the water temp is 75-80 degrees now, I'm still running to cold.

Nope, never got the temp up. I was going to put a ball valve in the water tube, but didn't get the chance prior to cracking my deck. Now it's coming all back apart again to get the glass work done. :(

Ball valve in which water tube? main pick-up? where and how?

Did you have to re-ring, or just run the same rings?

How did you crack your deck?:(

The water is a bit bumpy out this way. Add that to a 11 year old boat and it cracked.

I was going to put a 1/2" ball valve in the main copper tube coming up from the water pump so I could slow down the flow.

I did hone and re-ring to no avail. Same compression as before.
