V8 Evinrude-Special Tool???

Is there a special socket for removing the flywheel nut on a V8?? I can't seem to fit the one on that I always use on my V6's. It seems like it has to be a real thin wall socket to fit between the nut and the flywheel.

Same nut as the looper V-6's you may have to thin it down I have one that I turned down so it would fit. Some of the castings on the flywheels are not very close. as others.

lOok for a 6 point socket they have a thinnner wall than a 12 You may not need to turn down a 6. Mine is a 12 and had to be turned down.
