Doug Wright is expanding his operation and needs approximately 20 additional employees. They are the builders of well known 32' catamaran and have never not won a national and or world championship since they have been in business. They are in need of laminators, body men, mill operators, and painters. This is a chance to work side by side with some of the industries leading suppliers, builders and designers. You will learn the latest techniques of infusion, vacuum bagging, 5 axis mill work, e-glass, composite core materials, and carbon fiber epoxy repair along with new mold production. Pay will start in the low range of 18 per hour and depending on effort, knowledge, and ability can go above 30 dollars per hour. There are paid vacations and benefits are available for individuals and or families.
High Tech Composites is located in Melbourne FL. and relocation assistance will provided for people that qualify. I am helping Doug with his expansion and can forward resumes to the human resources department as they come in. Please provide a resume along with 3 work related references to

Awesome place , The time I was there I could tell Doug is much better at running a big crew than I could ever be ..
This would be a great opportunity for a young man to learn marine construction and boat building.

I tried to get in their door when they were still in Sebastian.
My timing sucked though and it was just before his popularity exploded :-)
Let me work on the Mrs. though about relocating to Melbourne :-)

...been there, done all that, in joe's ad above, for too many years to forget, including babysitting the 25+ man team to do it all. with that being said, i will join the old farts here, that have said they wish they were 20 years younger to join in. this kind of work is great for the young at heart with the energy & enthusiasm to learn more about the trade. the ONLY way to learn it, is by doing it day in & day out, in the glass/lamination shop, carpentry shop, metal shop, tooling shop, paint shop, advertisers, attending trade shows, boat shows, boat races & talking with hundreds of venders & suppliers & customers, and make'n it happen. although it can get old "mak'n" the donuts after many years, as they say, the biggest thing i miss about the composites business, is the people you work with & their enormous talent & friendships...
Just wondering how many young guys share our passion for performance boats? In our area, it's almost non-existent unfortunately. Most of the old go fast guys went to fast CCs.Sadly,a lot of the young guys don't want to work despite lots of good jobs .Again, this would be a great opportunity for the right person,or a 2nd career to pursue their passion

If I was single, I would be tempted to jump in. At 49, its a little different. But it still makes me think. Man, I wish I was younger, with much less junk......
I mean stuff!:D
Heck, there's more than one guy on here that I'd like to meet and work with, just to learn some more. My body betrays me:eek:, but it doesnt stop my passion for motors and boats......and wanting to learn from the good guys.

I'd say the numbers are dwindling. In all the motorsports I'm involved in, I see more guys my age than any young fellas, whether it be out on the tracks, road, or water. Most the younger guys are into the wakeboard boats or PWC, how they can afford em is beyond me. The only motorsport I see the young guys in numbers is cars. Guess it's the cheapest and easiest thing to get in to.

Jet ski races get bigger every year down here. Young guys too. Cheap and easy to get involved in.
It's sad that there are no young guys elbowing their way to the front of the pack , to be taught a trade. Probably our fault for spoiling our kids .. rotten.
Born here , flew here , or even swam the Rio-Grande , all probably should have to serve two years in the armed services.
My dad always thought that I never respected the value of a dollar .. I can't blame him. He went thru the crash of 1929 in N.Y. as a boy. I reckon starving for a few years never leaves you ..

My 1st boat building job at Shamrock boats waaay back in 1976 was to GRIND the bilges, clean and gelcote them before rigging. Did it suck? You betcha! Did I quit? Oh, hell no. Eventually got a nice job in the tooling shop and learned a crap load about building molds and layup. They stuck you in the bilge to see if you were serious about working there.

Thirty years ago you could insure and finance an STV or Skater. Those days are gone so unless you are paying cash, you are out. I couldn't have done many things without the banks approval when I was in my 20s and 30s but today that option is off the table. Not to mention I worked my ass off to have and maintain the stuff I had at that age.
Today's world offers a young guy with no experience the chance to make 80K and learn while doing it but its a ton of hours and not enjoyable.

LOL .. yea buddy , I was the "weld prep" kid that wore out many grinders on packing house and field farm equipment .. in the dust or mud ... didn't matter
And this morning I repaired a unobtanium magnesium Porsche case that spit a bone out at Road America last weekend .. ;)

Chaz = I'd pay good money to see J.P. take a "tunnel lap" on the red rocket ...
In @ 11 , lunch with Doug and Scott from 12 till 2 , home by 3 for a nap .. then it's out for a dinner run with da bouyz .. @ 4 to catch the senior special .. :D
Me ... I'd go in the tunnel far enough to find the escape hatch .. pop inside for a nap .. have me a dive tank ready ... I've breathed in enough poison already .. ;)
Speakin of senior special .. I'm gonna make me a fried ham-egg-n-cheese-sammich wiff chocolate milk ... and go back to bed :) .. 11 am comes awful early .. :p :D
All ball-bustin aside ... only young guys that came to work for me answered one question correctly .. yes sir , I have a two year old .. and one in the oven .
Funny how wanting to be a responsible dad .. get's their attention

I'm a fairly young guy myself at 33. No kids for me yet. But to add to your point, some of the more successful guys I know are the ones who had kids young. Funny how some of the biggest F-ups I knew in high school are now some of the most stable hard working guys out there. They got the news of the kiddo coming along, dropped the BS, got into a trade and bust their ass everyday to provide.
Also, its always fun to repair a part that can no longer be bought
