Finding fitment from mercury part numbers

I have inherited a whole heap of genuine NOS quicksilver parts including gaskets, o rings, impellors etc. Given that Mercury searches use engine serial numbers to check fitment, is here any way of knowing which engine a part fits from the part number?

Try mercruiserparts.com. They have a parts by number search facility. Go into the old race motors section and search by number.

Should be easy now that the data is online, its just reverse lookup
