With my recent purchase of an 86 Mercury 115 came a set of controls. The PO indicated the Neutral throttle button a the base of the handle was not working. I couldn't find anything on youtube or in the interwebs on this issue other then it seems to be common for the square button to break. I managed to find a parts diagram and use that to figure out how it works. I carefully started disassembling the unit and seem to have come across the issue. I think someone was inside it or somehow things got messed up. Specifically where the pins, spring and ball bearings are supposed to be in the neutral button engage / disengage area. I have discovered that one of the ball bearings is missing. I believe its the larger size of the two. Probably a long shot but would anyone happen to know the size of the ball bearing? Or have one sitting in pieces they could measure? I will also need to replace the spring as well and would like to know the resting length as one end of mine is twisted up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to confirm item 22, 24, and 25. I cant seem to find a description on the ball bearing sizes in any parts book references.

Ok, so If anyone strolls across this thread the ball missing was 1/4" diameter. I had a spring in my bag of random springs that was a close match. Put the unit back together and all s working again! (Well, I haven't hooked up the shift/throttle cables but looks right) I am very happy!!
