I'm gomg and be looking at this boat next week 19ft long 225 evenrude. Looks like it needs new interior. He said no rot anywhere. I'm going to get a moisture device and look myself. What would it be worth?
Update
I made the 2 1/2 hour trip and come home with it. 1984 20ft eliminator daytona. Looks good for how old it is. Always parked under a car port. Didn't take a lot of pictures was in a hurry to get home. Don't want the baby momma to bitch. Doesn't know I got another boat. Happy camping here. Anyone in Oregon? You'll see me flying around the the Portland Airport. Not putting on the Facebook scream and fly page. Don't want my friends to know I got a bad boy yet 484935

I am not sure. I do know new and used boat prices have soared in the last year. Even 10k would be an easy sell. The moisture meter is key to the value. If it is wet look for another boat.

Mainstream bow rider values up? sure. Boats like this? not so much.
To me that boat looks beat and wet. Don't rely 100% on the meter, they are not the end all, be all answer to how wet a hull is. Bring a small hammer and tap all over and balance that against what the meter shows.
Interiors can cost a lot if you want a quality job. I agree with the others 5 or 6k max.

Supply and demand. These 19ft Daytona's are hard to find and have beautiful lines and top notch craftsmanship.
I think the only moisture you might find would be in the transom. These had short transom's with taller and sometimes longer setbacks causing a lot of stress.
A 260 would be a blast.
Is your centurion a 19 pickle?

If it is on an original box steel trailer and you will use it in salt, give it two or three years tops and it will need an aluminum trailer.
If he will let you pull a bolt holding the setback to the transom, check for we wood there--if he is serious about moisture protection in his transom, he may not.
Steering wheel is on the correct side!

I use the Electrophysics. You do not want the kind with the prongs that are meant to penetrate lumber. I think I paid around $100-150.484689
These are the best way to detect moisture and or rot. Hammer method can work but you need to know what to hear. These meters are 100% the way to go. Just lay on the piece you want to test. To determine wet vs dry move it around to different areas. You will know real quick.

Article has good info, moisture meters are not 100% across the board reliable and accurate, they are only another tool that provides information.

I don't know **** about them either. I'm just going by reviews. They have one at Lowe's I'm planning on getting. It's only $40 bucks.

One of my friends here had one that had everything from a 2.4 to a 250xs on it through the years. He loved it but sold it for an STV...he says now he wished he hadn't sold it. Not that the STV is bad or he wants to get rid of it, just that this boat rode so well and handled a lot. Nice hull and if I found one around here I would buy it! I'll back the $6000 value on it if the bottom is not chipped and the floor/transom is solid.

I also got a 1974 Myers tunnel hull made in Oregon. It's a copy cat of the Magnum. I've been hearing these boats are not safe at high speed's. If I'm not going to get the Eliminator. I'm just going to rebuild my old boat. One guy wrote me, don't be excited just do a thorough look at the boat. He is right. I'm excited about this one. Hopefully I'm not wasting a 3 hour drive for nothing. Why hasn't anyone say anything about a jack plate? I have one laying around that I'm planning on putting on the next boat.

Worth a try for $40 and you can return it if it doesn't work. There are a few youtube videos showing what it sounds like using the tap test. With knowledge of that, the meter, and your powers of observation I'm sure you'll be able to get a good idea of how solid the boat is.
Also helps to bring a friend for a second opinion and keep you grounded, make it their job to point out every single flaw no matter how minor.

The lowes meter works fine. I can drag mine across a transom and watch the number climb as it gets closer to the mount bolts. A hollow or delaminated spot will not read well. Remember, some level of moisture is normal. Dont be alarmed over a number until you see 40 and up. Im no expert, just used a meter on 4 or 5 hulls. Good idea to place it on a piece of wood or siding, not vinyl, on your house to see that a number in the the teens or 20's probably ok.

I have never ridden in a 19, but I can't believe how my 21 does in the slop/chop. It's crazy how well it does for a small boat. If the 19 is anything like it, I can see why people love them.

The 19 is a handful and nothing like the 21.

Not sure on Eliminator, but the Liberator 21 seats are really nice and reasonably price for new everything.
