I am pretty excited to announce the new "VENOM VENT" is now in production! Patent pending. This drop in vent will fit all Mercury V8 cowls. We have made a mold of Steve Bishop's handcrafted design in effort to create a clean affordable solution to bringing more air into the heavy breathing V8, and cut down on pulling exhaust through the rear air plenum. $495 a set plus shipping. Every one is hand laid, finished and painted by us. It will come with a template to cut the holes and access to a "HOW TO INSTALL" video on Youtube. Drop in? No trimming to OEM cowl?

What happens to spray that enters the vent? Baffles?

Fiberglass, painted basecoat-clearcoat, black double sided tape, but can be siliconed or epoxied, no trimming. The vents will include a template which gets layed over the factory cowl and the center is cut out. (Can't put a vent where there is no hole) The vents will then just drop in place. We will have a video available with step by step instructions. No baffles. The intake faces backwards so any spray is not going to make any difference. Look how much water gets into a 300xs cowl, yet it never hurts the motor. Gotta use common sense. Obviously if you are racing offshore and you get buried in wash from another boat, you will get more water in the cowl. In that case, just don't buy it!
