Hey Folks,

I'd like to install hydraulic steering on my Viper before spring. Anyone have any idea how long the hoses should be? I have a seastar pro helm and tournament series ram. I'm planning to have the lines come up through the center of the splash well using some sort of through connectors. I already have some short hoses to go from the well to the ram... I was thinking of routing the cables around the passenger side of the boat.

Any thoughts?

First thought is - get out a tape measure ------------------------

Haha, well of course... was just looking to see if anyone had done it before (I'm sure many times) I would think the shorter the better... I may put 90* elbows at the helm to help shorten the run...

If you're going through the center of the splash well SeaStar makes a decent looking bulkhead. It is what I'm running on mine. You would just spec that extra part number when you order the hoses. It's not something you can add later.

As stated - measure twice and the bulk head fittings are a nice touch . They Seastar have a great support line - I call it Rapid Service - he - can't recall name is excellent .
Don't forget order fluid and fill kit .
I know your asking for an exact length but I can help you there - just measure and 1500 psi lines are not much more - bulkhead fittings - singles or double and usual I believe for those lines is 2 ft . Call em once you have done some homework and gone through the catalog and fittings page . Easy
