It's the same size, it's not exposed to to much heat.....is it?

if so, how about the black bleeder hose too?

If that's what you're talking about, I use the orange high temp silicone. Put a thin bead downthe center of the exhaust and let it sit for 5 or 6 minutes to stiffen up. Then install the gaskets, plates and torque. Be sure to cut the gaskets where the water holes are ONLY if the extra coolong holes have been drilled. If you don't the holes are useless.

Surgical silicone tubing works. Silicone tubing handles heat better. The orange silicone in a tube is easiest though.

Unless you have your stuff apart often. Tygon and silicon tubing don't have the high concentrations of solids that rubber does. Tygon and silicon will become brittle because they loose their plasticizers over time. Put what belongs there.

The Mercury Racing factory orange "rubber" strip IS silicone. I have used thick wall silicone tubing and I have used orange silicone in a tube and both have been in excellent shape when the motor is torn down. The factory orange "rubber" is excellent , but both other methods seem to work fine as well. Tygon 4040A ( yellow fuel rated formula) is not designed for that use. Tygon does make several other formulas that may work if they are rated for high temp and for fuel as you are going to expose the strip to some unburnt fuel as well as the temps.
