I have a 2.5 flywheel with magnets epoxied in for Mad EFI and would like to put in on a 2.4 centerhorn engine. I can change flywheels and starters but before doing so wanted to be sure I wouldnt mess up the harmonics or balance in the engine.
What is answer? Go or no go on flywheel switch?
Thank you
David

I think the lite flywheel I got from TUFISH was off of a 2.5, its going on my 2.4

I am from V-8 car world. And many flywheels such as smallblock 400 checvy or big block chevy were externally balanced.
While they would bolt on say a 350 chevy, you would get vibration and beat your bearings out.
I didn't know if merc flywheels had any external balance? I do think John you will have to use a 2.5 starter with 2.5 flywheel because teeth are different.

They appear to be the same,
Got lucky?

They're the same, starters too, unless you're foolin' with a REAL old starter. There is no external balance difference such as is on the 400 SB and 454 BB Chevys.
