First of all, you need to know that very often, you can find "free horsepower" by carefully examining every facet of your boat's performance, and changing your setup to optimize it (take the greatest advantage of the power you have now). Often you can gain a few mph just by shifting weight inside the boat, removing unnecessary weight, adding some engine height and/or setback, or any combination of the above, and definitely using the optimum prop for your usage, hull characteristics, available power and RPM range. These folks will need more specifics on your combination to give you more specific advice. Hull type, weight, setback, general heath of the motor, compression numbers, and mods already done, etc. If I can be of any help, let me know. :cool:

Rickracer is right moving and removing weight will help, so will getting all the alge and crud of your boat and lower unit,,
but lets face it there is really no free lunch,,
moter hight and set back= Jackplate=$$$
propellers=$$$
But on the brite side Rickracer and many many others on this board are real sharp,,,so if there aint no free lunch ,,,they will point you to a few free snacks!!!!

Thanks so far, the boat is essentially stock, it is a Seaswirl Striper 2000, it's not built for all out speed but will still do just over 50mph, one prob, i'd like it to be able to do a little more if it can. One thing i know is that with most stock setups in anything, cars, motorbikes, you can change a few things to get more out of it. I'll have to look up those specs for you guys, i think the compression is fairly high we have to run it on 94 octane or it starts to knock a little. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
