Is it too much to hope that this self-serving monster of greed that advanced her position by making every woman in earshot feel inadaquate will soon be making a cozy for her stainless steel toilet from prison bed sheets?

Everyone loves a scandle... remember Leona Helmsley? Same deal. Greed and entitlement lead to the downfall of one of Americas "Darlings" Poor, poor Martha...

Yep, I bet she has used up all her swear words multiple times by now in private.

Then we have that old game, uh, baseball I think. It is $100 a ticket or something and some great hitter blew up a cork bat in a game...oops. Darn it. Wonder if he will still get his 500 million a year pay or not...for cheating...ahhhh, I'm sure he didn't mean to. And they wonder why the seats are empty. Stupid me, I thought you used a *heavier* bat for practice.

Depends on what the meaning of 'is' is, right?:D

I find it hard to believe that she would knowingly throw everything away over 45 grand with the money she has.

will apply to this case...it's all about obstruction and lying.

Politicians and celebrated personalities never learn that the lies are always worse than the deed. If Martha had pleaded the fifth and didn't say **** none of this would be happening now.

Instead she thought "I'll just throw the dumb ass investigators a bone and they'll go away"...guess what they didn't, and that bone is gonna really hurt.

Doubt it we'll ever see an actual trial...there is lots of horse dealing left in this one...my prediction, no jail...but one hell of a fine.

Hypothetically speaking.....................

If you had a million dollars tied up in "Company Stocks" and some guy calls you up in the middle of the night and says "SELL" cuz the FDA ain't gonna approve the cancer drug all your money is tied-up in...............What the hell would you do?

Oh Damn.......by the way, the testing of the drug in the clinics in Europe is showing that it works. Holy Sheep-Dip, Batman.........what you think will happen to that stock now?

I think Martha had a little more than 45K tied up in that stock, heard it was more like 250K.

Over the years this woman has pissed-off more people than you can count. You don't think one of them SOBs ain't standing in the shadows saying "I made this happen." Think again.

Only in America, boys......................:D

I'd do the same thing...but I'd keep quiet once the heat was on...smart people sometimes think their really smart and end up paying the price for their arrogance.

but inside info is just waaaaayyyy too juicy to pass up. It takes some real balls or incredible conviction to sit on that kind of info and do nothing.

I guess my nuts are small... :D

BTW...she's small potatoes what about all those other exec's that are getting absolutely nothing...damn, now that's a crime.

I'd be real surprised if she got anything more than her own legal fees, but you never know. Justice rears its head once in a while. Fact is she is a celebrity of sorts and has money. That will get you away with about anything in this country unless you are real stupid.

Don't forget that our dear friend Martha, was also on the Board at the NYSE..............she knew EXACTLY what she was doing, she got cought. She is the big fish that all the pencil pushers have been dreaming about, she made a lot of enemy, and now they are getting there retrubution.
Inside info is a daily occurance, in this profession, the smart fish don't take the bait.

don't forget O.J. Simpson, or Bill Clinton. Thry were both real stupid and still got out of their problems.
Fame and money override even stupidity, it appears.

Yeah, but I think Bill knew exactly what he was doing. All those people died for a reason, and he never got caught for the same reason. He had help, and he is one slippery fella...he knew the public would laugh it off/ignore it/whatever. He is a damn good people person; who else can flat out lie to the public on national TV and get away with it? (and repeatedly at that) Just think of how many used cars he could sell...

She is not, but still has some pull. We will see how much. I hope you are right...little miss Rider, the innocent shoplifter got nailed after all. I'm so sick of this PC garbage. No different than NASCAR paying off Jesse. Give me $150k a year and I'll say NASCAR is great instead of being quiet.;)

OJ, that was a mess. Just shows how the lawyers control the legal system. They tie the much lower paid cops hands behind their backs legally, then raise standards to an incredible height. Too big a mess to figure out even. So much for "For the people." The legal system answers to nobody except jurors who are not legal professionals, and jurors who are left after most people got out of serving any way they could because they can't afford it, or don't have the time while trying to make a living. Lets put those retirees to work there...:D

This is bad timing for Martha though, with the CEO scandles that have people hot now.

Rider...that was funny!

why the hell does someone with that much money need to shoplift. Well, besides practicing for a part, that is. I'll bet she thinks twice before doing it again.:D :D
Dumb Bitch!

The reason I'm comfortable saying this is two-fold.

First, Bush absolutely can't afford to have the economy go into the toilet prior to re-election. The justice department will spank her hard as an example and to offer the average investor the illusion that there's a level playing field out there. Market confidence is a must.

By the way, don't let it bother you that the same folks who wanted to charge you for their investment advice (a monolithic "Buy, buy, buy!") want you to forget the anger you have at your previous broker and come to them for the same self-serving advice. Total Merrill. Reminds me of "The Santa Clause" and Total Tank. Anyone hear a single apology or an "oops, we were wrong; here's your broker's fees back"?

Back to my second point, last night the news reported that she'd had like four times to plea bargain and all offers included jail time. The prosecutor wouldn't insist on jail time unless they were certain they owned her.
