We've got about a 3/4" "chunck" of the tip of the skeg broken off on our 140. Do I have to have this repaired, or could I remove about 3/4" off the bottom of the skeg? Money's kind of tight, I've got some JB Weld and some alu. plate. Could I square the edges and repair it myself? Suggestions? This is one of those stupid Q's I would usually save until I see Sleekster in person:( Thanks for bearing with with us on project Baja and for all the answers to our stupid questions.:)

but from the description and the potential speed of the baja, i'd say it was fine as is

don't totally understand the location you're describing, but if it's only 3/4" and with the speeds you'll be running you'll be fine.
I've done it several times. Re-cotour the skeg to tkae the "chunk" out and no one will know.

I'll stick a pic up when I get home tonight. It just "looks" ugly and I was hoping to clean it up a bit. Yup Da Baja's gonna' be a bit of a pig speed wise, as long as it'll pull my crumb crunchers in a tube I'll be happy. Thanks Again!
