I recently completed a 1.75:1 gearcase project for my Allison Pro Sport, 225X, 20 inch. The gear case is a 1995 CLE. I had Bobs install a low water nose cone with double water side intake tubes.

I noticed that the tip of the bullet is about ¼ inch above (higher out of the water) to centerline of the propshaft.

I having some handling problems with this case and was wondering if this might be contributing to this. Where is the NC tip usually positioned in ref to propshaft cenerline?

My stock 1.87:1 SM runs just fine.

The gearcase also has Tuckers welded Allison style skeg which has always worked real well on my rig.

If the cone was 1/4 lower than the propshaft it would be better. you,d have the prop shaft higher while still maintaining water pressure.

I called Bob's before I installed my nosecone, and asked that same question, they said for an Allison, they mounted it 1/4" or 3/8" below the propshaft centerline.

I insalled mine in line with.
