300promax cowling on 250proxs?

Going to pull the 300 promax off my lavey and repower with a 250xs. I just had the cowling painted to match my boat not too long ago and I want to use it on the new motor. Joe@dbr says it should fit but I haven’t been able to find anyone else who’s done the same. Has anyone else done it?

I have an XS under my X hood. I moved the base plate back 1" to clear the compressor and molded the left rear vent to avoid the pulley as well. Guys in the Superstock class have been doing this for several years.

Is there anything I need to do About the extra air coming in? I read some things about not running at alien Calmex with stock tuning or stock map sensor location or something like that?

Does anyone know about the alien cowl air situation? On dbrs website it mentions about not running there alien cowl with stock ecu mapping?

There are many boats running alien cowlings on stock optimax ecus without issues. As Joe P mentioned almost all of super stock class is setup that way with stock 300xs motors. They supply us with factory ecus for the races.
