Anyone familiar with Barracuda Boats. There were being built in Palm City Florida from 2014 to I believe 2019 before the company went on hiatus. I've read that the owner was going to have the boats built by Crownline but Crownline pulled out at the last minute and developed their own center console. They look like a nice, well built and designed boat. It's the biggest 18'8" CC I've seen. I just put a deposit on a 2017 with only 80 hours on a 2017 Suzuki DF 140A.

Had a successful maiden voyage on the Barracuda 188 CCR last Sunday. Ran the ICW from Jupiter Inlet to St Lucie Inlet and back. Much different perspective than the performance boats I'm accustomed to. Standing up against the lean post under the shade of the T-Top was a nice change of pace. The boat planed off nicely if you nailed the throttle. We definitely felt more boat wakes with the shallow V and shorter 18'8" length vs the 22 degree deadrise and 24' of my Checkmate Pulsare 2400! When I checked the Simrad we were blistering along a 41 MPH and the tach was reading above the max recommended rpm spinning the aluminum 14" X 23 prop...I think I'm going to try a SS prop for some better performance and see if I can get her into the upper 40's, even with the T-Top acting like a wind brake!! It was really nice being able to freely walk all around the boat instead of being confined to a small cockpit! I know most center consoles don't have hyd. jackplates but the performance junkie in me has got me thinking...SS prop, 6" Hyd. jackplate..low water pickups....etc. lol

My new Scream and Flyer. Everytime a go-fast boat goes by I scream and everytime I hit a big wake we fly! lol

Nice boat it looks like a dry ride? The bow looks like it would deflect waves real nice. 41 is respectable good luck with the new rig.

Decent freeboard, safe bow seating, like it, needs the G2150 triple.
It's a nice setup with the 140, but just adding for comparison sake, hope you don't mind.

Yeah, it's got deep freeboard for a 18'8" boat and runs really dry. My last time out I was seeing 45+ mph with the aluminum prop! Still working on seat time and feel for the boat! It's a bit different than the high performance world!

The maximum hp rating is 140 from Barracuda, otherwise it would've been nice to have the Suzuki DF150 or a new Mercury 150 Pro XS!

Suzuki recommends three blade props up to 25" pitch with the DF140. I was thinking about trying a Trophy Plus..

Bought a brand new Suzuki 3X14X22 SS prop from Nick’s Creative Marine to try on my Barracuda! So far the best speed I’ve seen is about 43 and change with a full tank and gear. Hoping to exceed 45 with the new prop!!

I forgot about this thread! With the new 22 pitch, I’ve run 46 mph at about 6400 rpm. I really can’t go faster because the boat begins to porpoise from the lift of the T-top!

Really nice setup. I hope you are enjoying it.

What kind of winch is that on the trailer? I have never seen a setup like that before... of course, all my stuff is old, so maybe I'm just out of touch with the new stuff, nonetheless, I'm curious.
