Not my engine but looking to purchase boat. How does the crankshaft break this way? What is the ball park to rebuild the engine? I do live near Fond Du Lac, WI, and I know there are few people that do this that are Mercury employees too.
Thanks

That is a 13# cast iron flywheel that DONT FLEX.
gonna need a stator and full powered gasket kit and motels well piston rings along with the crank. Lookn at $100 if you do it all yourself.

I see brand new cranks are $2K. Might be better off getting a rebuilt powerhead or upgrading to a newer engine.

Just get used crank for 2 or 300$ if the journals r smooth its prob good to go , u can also have a run out done on it to make sure ( cheap)

That doesn't really look like the top of a crankshaft... or I'm just not seeing it correctly.

I saw that on a Yamaha F150 once. Who knows what happened to it, I think the motor was sunk though, probably corroded and a monkey pried on it or something without the right tools.

i bought a motor (1999 200 EFI) from a close friend of mine that had the same exact issue. Broke at the dock coming to a weigh in. I put another crank in it, along with a bunch of other goodies and ran the snot out of it until i got my 3.0, it's still sitting in my shop. I also have the end of the crank on the "wall of speed sacrifices" posted pics of it a few years ago, ill see if i can locate them.
