I just picked up this 1990 Checkmate 281 with 225s on it. The engines were rebuilt recently. I added a picture of the receipt from 1995 when it was re rigged. The guy I bought it off of didnt know much about it only used a couple times. The last time out one of the blades let loose on the prop messed up the lower unit bent the prop shaft. I bought it the way it sits he has on order they should be here any day Hill marine eagle 4 15 x 26. I found a guy local with a gear case and a nose cone already installed. Anyone have a similar boat what setup are you running
Thanks in advance

Way cool!
Gorgeous rig.

Love the work order for the repower/rig at Ocean OB.
One of the best and that owner paid for the good stuff.
I believe Ocean OB used to race one identical to yours.

Notice they had 24” props on the order?

Does it have 26’s on it now?
If so, I’d say you’re probably close.

Your set back looks correct too.
Theres a guy on here that just sold a near identical rig after he re-rigged it.
Had it running mid 70’s.

I had two twin OB 24’ Sonics and currently finishing a re-rig/power on a 25’ version of your boat.
Loved all three.
The Mate hasn’t been wet yet.

You own one of my favorite boats!

Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm pretty sure it's still running the 14.5 x 24p I just picked it up two days ago I have wanted a twin outboard checkmate for ever. I'm hoping the new props get here in a week or two. I saw his 28' that he redid he did a really nice job on it.
