Finally getting time to work on my little Allison. Got the bottom all painted today. Topside is pretty much done. Boat had new transom, stringers and paint done when I bought it. I have everything rigged and fitted and pulled it all out and painted interior last week. Now I will flip it back over in a couple days and install everything back inside. Should be in water in the next few weeks. Looking forward to going for a rip!

The ultimate time capsule.

Love it.

I can visualize a dawn rip on the glass smooth river w/the exhaust echoing through the trees.

80 mph + ?

I checked the reeds. Install nos reed stops. Redid some wiring. Going thru the135 carbs now. I have rebuild kits for the fuel pumps and all new fuel lines.

Why did you replace the reed stops, did you tweek them open a hair more, hundred years ago I even had a special reamer made to open the holes up a few thousandths.?? Ever consider Chris Carson reeds?? What props are you considering???

My 135 powerhead had a dead #3. I bought a cherry 71 115. Used the 135 carbs a nd found nos reed stops. I have solid mounts to install still. I will try 17 pitch 3 blade cleaver. My speedie is a mint 13:16 ratio

Would love to come up and watch this make a run, you know, you could have probably just opened up the reed stops, I think the 115 is like 5/32nds and the 135 is twice that at 5/16ths. I've got a, what looks like a new, never ran brass two blade 24 pitch prop I was going to offer up to you to try, then I finally read you have a speedmaster, oh well, good luck.

You're more than welcome to come up. It will probably be a couple weeks before it's ready. Got it flipped and starting to rig her now. I was just going to take the reed stops out of my 135 but then I found the NOS stops for cheap on Ebay. When I got the old stops out, it looks like someone had already replaced them. They were identical to the new ones. Oh well now I know what I got. I still have to finish up mid section with adding trim and solid mounts. That is really the only time consuming thing I have left.

Here's a couple more pictures. Didn't get much done in the last coupe days. Too many other things going on. Still on track pretty much.

You keeping the plywood on the back, is this part of a jackplate??

Yes. I built. It allows me room for the clamps on the inline to clear the transom and still use the jackplate. It has an Allison jackplate.

Well I finally got the short mid all tore apart to put the new mounts in. It has been a while since I tore a 50 year old mid section apart. It sucked! It required a torch, drills, Taps and a BFH. All apart now getting ready to paint then re assemble.

Finally got the powerhead done and back on. Painting speedmaster, should have it on tomorrow. Got some wiring to do. Damn summer heat slowed me way down.
