This was my dive into the boat repair world. Prior to this i had never done any glass work and I had never even seen inside an outboard cowl. I grew up in the Midwest where our boats came with big blocks and Bravos.

This is an 88 proline sportsman. I bought it destroyed and hastily demo'd by someone who may not have held a saw before. Lol. It needed a stringer and had a decent hole in the bottom. Floor was out and console was beyond destroyed. Plastic bucket seats where you sat chest high to the gunnel. The gel coat was ruined and had 30 years of dock hits. It came with the original carb'd Yamaha 200 that I managed to get running well through weeks of reading and research but after running it for a few months it needed more so I bought a non running ox66 250. I have since gotten the new motor to run solid at about 56 and am now actually sorting out the fine points after some Mods. The console and top came out of an 81 aquasport 23. The console looked like it had been in a shooting it was so holey.

Anyway. Hope you like it. I'm pretty proud of my first boat restoration.

Nice high sided rig. Came out good from what I can see.

It made sense at the time for a deep Bay boat. My son was 1 and we do get some big water here. I am currently looking for a real skinny flats boat to redo or even a bass boat if I find the right deal.
