I've had the boat on the water 4 times, bought it with a dead battery. Charged and load tested the battery, seemed to be fine. Last trip home the boat wouldn't re-start at the ramp, completely dead. It felt a little funny while it was running, but voltmeter in boat was always over 13v, tach has been acting funny the whole time (which I know from my other motor is a symptom of a bad regulator).
Charged the battery today, ohm tested stator and regulator as per the manual, both pass static testing. Fired up the boat, voltage went from 12.4 to 12.9 at idle, runs 13.9-14.1 at 1000 rpm. Inspected flywheel magnets, all good. So do I have a questionable battery? Or a charging system that doesn't work properly hot? I have never seen the voltmeter dip below 13 while running, which is why I'm asking, I was already thinking I would be replacing the stator and regulator, but they seem fine?
Thanks guys.
