It was beautiful last night. Sunny and 70. Where the heck were ya? I do think the lousy weather earlier in the day spooked a lot of people from going. Not many race boats. Of course the O/B guy always show up. Why is that? I think they must be racers with bigger balls. Not afraid of a little rough water or rain. Last night the conditions were glass water, no wind, no boat traffic with no waves.
Warlock (aka 30Motion) I brought the decal material last night to the Island. I left it in the boat at Baker Marine.

Here's my recollection of the pairings....
Lake Racer Outboard - First race was Joe Perocesci (STV River Rocket/Mercury 260 2.5EFI) against Jeff Houghtaling (Allison Super Sport/Mercury 280 2.5EFI). Joe got jeff out of the hole, but Jeff had mad top end (as the 280 usually has to play catch up at the island). Next race was Bob Albee (Mirage River Racer/Merc 260) against Brett VanDerWal (Mirage River Racer/OMC). Bob won this pretty handily. Good to see a white motor out there though. Next race was Bill Gohr (Allison XR2002/Merc 280 w/260 electronics) against Jeff Cleinmark (Allison SuperSport/Merc 260) the lighter boat won this race as Bill got Jeff by a couple of boat lengths. Next race was Bob Albee and Joe Perocesci. Bob got Joe out of the hole and never gave up the lead winning by about 2 boats and setting up the final against Bill Gohr. They had a little trouble getting matched up at the start and got turned around. The race ran the second time. Bill must have forgotten to trim under after the first race as the boat skyrocketed off the line and gave Bob a 2 boat advantage which he never gave up. They ran them again though (apparently the starter wasn't satisfied with the second start either) and pretty much the same result except Bill was a little flatter off the start and the race was a little closer - a boat or two at the most.
There were only two boats in the Pro Modified class as Rich Srnec kept up his winning ways against a hard charging Ron Barta in his STV/Mercury lake boat. Not a bad showing for a ski boat against a nationally competitive full blown racer like Srnec's.
Good to see Jim Morris out there at his first Blarney - bring the boat next time Jim! And bring G-Train with you too!
Best first night - weatherwise - that I can ever remember. 1 down and 15 left to go.....
