Who did you get to do it? I’ve been thinking about getting with Chaz to get a set up like that for the mota in my pic. Carbs ain’t working real good on it. It would love a horn

A past project.

3.3 liter OMC w/Mad EFI, 16” Taylor mid and a 2.5 Sporty that I put 1.62’s in.
It was a beast, a fun/challenging and purdy.

The good was, you could go from single seat, 7 gls of gas, a 22” drag to, a second seat w/passenger, 29 gls of gas, a 30” ET and it didn’t slow down!

The bad was, it took a separate program in the EFI for it to recalibrate.

I could tune the OEM, plastic bodied carbs to adapt better.

As a 2.5 Merc guy, I always say, you need to do one though just to see what it’s like to have to file, bend, drill every freagin bracket/part just to make it work.
As in, the factory never made them.

I remember buying a lower mount from Wayne Taylor (RIP) for the first OMC shorty I built.
The bolt holes didn’t even line up!
I called Wayne to confirm that he used a jig to assemble and drill these mounts, telling him of my experience.
He assured me that he did.

He was the last we had as a Hi Perf OMC pts supplier.

I hung up, shaking my head knowing what was ahead
