What years were the 2.4 bridgeport's made, and how can you decipher the year from the serial # ?

not really sure 'bout when but thinkin' 2.4 BP was 'bout '83 with updraft efi???... 2.0 champ motor a little earlier maybe?? can't tell by serial number (some parts web sites, but not all), will give a year with a serial number.. but there will be a "build date" stamped on port side, block half, base of number 2 cylinder.. might be hardta see but its there.. 1/8" numbers, m/d/yr.
