Wonder what will happen to the great savings when the batteries need to be replaced and disposed of...........

Or what is the "carbon footprint" of the batteries and how to get rid of the toxic wast when it comes time to despose of them, some more green propaganda.

Asking those kind of questions that may impede the next environmental disaster brought to us by the liberal left.

You must be a racist. (sarcasm)

Liberal left, people who clean up the ocean, only to nuke the whales!!!!

I think it's true that the only way solar/wind power make any sense is if you can store the power until you néed it; but if you can store excess power then you don't need solar or wind to "fill in" when demand goes up... store the excess off-peak power from your nuke or gas or coal fired plant until you need it.

These lithium-ion batteries are "recyclable" although it's more complicated than salvaging lead from car batteries.

No need to store extra power from coal fired or nuke plants since they deliver on demand regardless of the weather.

As for that bid Lith-Ion battery storage facility.....I would not want to be anywhere near that when the batteries catch fire (and you know they will at some point)

They don't, really. I applied for a job down in Florida last winter... basically starting up & maintaining the big diesel & gas turbine generators they needed online to fill in the "peak demand" every day to prevent "brownouts". But, not worth arguing over... I do see the "benefit" the batteries could provide.

batteries or any storage is the secret to any of this working

I wonder why they put all those batteries above ground exposed to the elements. why not a large underground facility where they won't get hit by lightning or a tornado? Plus if something bad happened, just have a bulldozer near by fill in the hole.......

Battery is 10 x the weight and 50 x the volume of gasoline
