Mercury finger ports

QUESTION''  what exactly are they, what is there purpose, does my2.4 220 chrome bore have them?  and are they aperformance mod or not. what models have them, & where are they n what do they look like???

Ok I'm no block expert , but yes the 2.4 220 has them , in cyl wall. I think 3 ov em but as wide as ya fingers close together , I hope this is close neway , most of the 2.4 and 2.5 has the finger ports , pre 83 2.4 200 did not have em. 2.0 does not have em except the champ mota and maybe 1 more race mota but that's the only factory 2.0 finger port mota , so yes it help hp alot when added but ur 220 and pm has em. I'm sure I'm missin sum stuff but u get the picture :thumbsup:
